Each year, GT Students choose a project to work on for the year under the guidance of the Director of Student Success Ms. Verna Rolland.  This year, projects have included safer crosswalks, sponsoring animals, and one group of 4th Graders have launched the inaugural FASD Foxes Fun Run!   Jump to the Kids' FAQs.

PODCASTS ABOUT THE FASD FUN RUN

You do not need to tip the fundraising platform.

The school community has gone racing past the $6,000 goal - AMAZING!   To celebrate, all the kiddos are getting ice cream* right before we send them home to you for the weekend.

What Is Happening?

Great running weather is predicted, so we will head over in separate groups to the nearest section of City Park in the afternoon.   First grade will cheer on the Kindergarteners and vice versa, and once they are done they will head back to school and enjoy a treat later in the afternoon.  2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th will then head over and take turns cheering each other on!

WHY WE FUNDRAISE

  • Fundraising Reality:  Fundraisers can sometimes feel like a bit of a hassle, and it is something we all collectively pitch in and do anyway because we understand that public education is perpetually underfunded.  At its heart, the FASD Foxes Fun Run is about more than just trying to bolster fundraising for our school.  This fundraiser, in particular, is an educational opportunity for our children to collectively take the lead.

  • How Parents Can Help:   Please consider letting your children practice their communication and advocacy skills by reaching out to your broader network to ask for support.  Some (lightly held) suggestions might include reaching out to trusted adults such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, local businesses, the coffee shop you are personally keeping afloat with your caffeine addiction, your friends that "owe" you because you purchased wrapping paper from their children last year, your wealthy friend who just happens to have a million dollars burning a hole in their pocket that they want to donate to FASD (fingers crossed).   Bonus education moment - they can practice their cursive handwriting when sending the thank you notes!

  • Ask if your employer has a "Corporate Match" (most actually do!)

With Deepest Gratitude To Our Technical Advisors:
