Street Crossing Safety Squad - A GT Group Project

Our students noticed something important: mornings can feel a little unsafe when kids are crossing the street alone. So they came up with a solution… and they need your help to make it happen.

We’re launching a Street Crossing Safety Squad to support safe arrival at 24th & Gaylord near the main entrance.

What volunteers do:

  • Arrive around 7:40 AM to grab a high-visibility vest

  • Be present from 7:45–8:05 AM

  • Stand on the sidewalk and help walk students safely to the crosswalk when needed

This is not a crossing guard role. Volunteers do not stop traffic. Instead, you’re an extra set of eyes and a caring adult helping students make safe choices.

How to join:

  • Sign up using the Google Calendar link

  • Or simply show up and grab a vest on a morning that works for you

Even one morning makes a difference.

Let’s work together to keep our students safe and start the day with care and connection.
