FASDenver will recruit and is committed to attracting, developing and inspiring professional, effective, and highly qualified personnel. Educators at FASDenver will comply with all requirements for employment set forth by C.R.S. 22-63-291, the Colorado Department of Education, and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. The qualifications of the teachers to be employed will be aligned with the vision and mission of FASDenver and are designed to ensure students meet the specific educational goals outlined in this charter application. French teachers must demonstrate a fluency in the French language, a proficiency for teaching and must have a bachelor’s degree either in education or French.

Teachers who are hired to teach a specific subject (i.e. math) will be required to hold a subject-specific credential or permit. FASDenver prefers that teachers hired to teach in French be either native-speaking and/or hold a teaching certificate from their respective Ministry of Education (i.e. the French Ministry of Education), or through the American Council of Teaching Foreign Languages. In the case of highly qualified native-speaking teachers who may come from outside the US, or who have not completed these certifications, FASDenver has requested a waiver from C.R.S. 22-63-201.

All prospective employees will successfully complete a Department of Justice fingerprinting background check and reference checks to ensure the safety of the faculty, staff and students of FASDenver. Prospective employees are also expected to have the qualifications for employment outlined in their job descriptions and will be screened to ensure such. All employees will be at-will.
